“Spectacular walking historical tour with Kris” – Martha\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Kris was absolutely incredible. We had 7 family members for a special walking tour. My father went to Biarritz American University after WWII. Kris put together a walk through time highlighting places where my dad went to class, lived, ate his meals, went to church and more. She arranged a very special visit to the Hotel du Palais that brought me to tears. We will never forget the extra time and energy Kris put into customizing our tour all while showing us Biarritz today. She was delightful to tour with and we all feel we have a great friend to see on our next visit…<\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0Martin was the perfect guide to the culinary delights of Les Halles in Biarritz. He first brought us to the fishmonger’s for a sampling of oysters on the half shell, whelks (bulots), and langostinas (small prawns) dipped in mayonnaise. Even though it was 11am, we washed it down with a few ounces of white wine, which we were told was the typical thing to do.<\/i><\/p>\n

Next we visited a stall devoted to fois gras, where the kindly proprietress showed us her very upscale wares and Martin explained that she is a purveyor to some of France’s top restaurants. She kindly treated us to slabs of fois gras terrine plus freshly saut\u00e9ed duck fois gras and duck heart, an unexpected treat and all delicious.<\/em><\/p>\n

Finally we visited the stall run by a family devoted to hunting and utilizing black truffles, overseen by their son Hugo, a dedicated young man who takes admirable pride in his work. We delighted in an omelette with shaved black truffles, plus truffled ham and green salad, washed down with glasses of Rioja and Cotes du Rhone…<\/em><\/p>\n
